Entry requirements

Higher education

Torrens University Australia offers flexible entry options and study pathways, whether you’re finishing school, pursuing career progression or looking for a change. Entry requirements for this course includes:

  • Successful completion of a Higher Education qualification.

Secondary education

  • Year 12 (Australian secondary school certificate) or equivalent.

VET studies

  • Vocational qualification (AQF Level 4), or above.

Practicum placement

You’ll be able to gain 75 hours of Clinical Practicum Experience at The Practice Wellbeing Centre and 65 hours of work experience at an approved external organisation of your choice.

  • BPT103- 5 day residential
  • PCP206- 3 day residential
  • MAT106- 4 day residential
  • APT107- 5 day residential + 25 hours external placement
  • BPT108- 4 day residential + 40 hours external placement
Credit for previous study or work
Torrens University offers pathway opportunities to further your learning. If you have already completed a qualification you may be able to credit this against a degree with Torrens University, even if it’s from another institution. This is called Recognition of Prior Learning. This course gives you a thorough understanding of beauty and spa technologies, treatments and practices and lets you gain hands-on experience in our student-run clinic, The Practice Wellbeing Centre under the supervision of practising aestheticians. A collaborative learning environment encourages engagement, allowing you to confidently begin working in the beauty industry as soon as you finish your beauty therapy diploma.

Recommended Study Pattern

This course comprises of 7 subjects. Each year consists of three Study Periods, also known as Trimesters. The recommended study pattern consists of 7 core subjects, with 3 to be completed in your first study period, 2 in your second and 2 in your third.

Award Requirements

To qualify for the Diploma of Beauty and Spa Practice, students must satisfactorily complete a program of study consisting of 7 subjects totaling 80 credit points.
