About this degree
On successful completion of the program, students should be able to:
- Demonstrate both applied and theoretical knowledge in either production of media content or workplace practice.
- Gain required technical skills and real-world experience engaging with industry partners to record, mix, master and produce digital content.
- Apply core skills established in critical thinking, reflexive and reflective processes to enhance practice, as well as communicating effectively with fellow practitioners through either written and verbal form.
- Draw on both historical and contemporary industry practice to inform processes and structure for best practice.
- Be a highly skilled, engaged broadcast media practitioner confident to interact in a variety of distribution channels.
- Confidently work across all cultural settings, diversity and beliefs and work with a stronger sense of self and others.
- Our full broadcast television studio is your classroom! A practical, fully accessible space, with the latest technology for streaming and outside broadcast. Develop industry-ready skills to prepare you for an exciting career in the television industry, with positions in reality television, live sport events, news and current affairs, talk shows, major events, game shows, sitcoms, comedy, production drama, television commercials and much more. Benefit from UniSQ’s connections with industry such as Channel Nine and Seven, leading outside broadcaster NEP in Sydney and Melbourne and Fox Sport in Sydney. Expect to be involved in work experience in studio and outside broadcasts – all hands on, in real-time.

Entry requirements
- ATAR - 60.00 or equivalent If you don't have an ATAR, you can attend an interview and supply a portfolio and written statement. Note: It is a requirement that Queensland-based students hold a current positive notice indicating that they are deemed suitable for working with children and young people whilst studying the Bachelor of Television and Radio Production. Further information about the Blue Card or Exemption Card suitability process is available from the Blue Card Services. Proof of meeting the English Language Proficiency requirements is also required.
