Entry requirements

Higher education

Torrens University Australia offers flexible entry options and study pathways, whether you’re finishing school, pursuing career progression or looking for a change. Entry requirements for this course includes:

  • Successful completion of a Higher Education qualification.

Secondary education

  • Australian Year 12 or equivalent.

VET studies

Practicum placement

During your degree, you'll undertake 460 hours Work-Integrated Learning at The Practice Wellbeing Centre and over 200 hours of compulsory class attendance.

Mandatory Residential School attendance will be required for the below subjects:

  • PCS207A Pre-Clinical Studies 1
  • PCS209A Pre-Clinical Studies 2


Credit for previous study or work
Torrens University offers pathway opportunities to further your learning. If you have already completed a qualification you may be able to credit this against a degree with Torrens University, even if it’s from another institution. This is called Recognition of Prior Learning. Description

In this course, you will learn the foundations of health science, clinical assessment, and herbal and nutritional medicine therapeutics. As a naturopathic healthcare student, you will gain hands-on experience at our custom-built student-led clinic, The Practice Wellbeing Centre, consulting with members of the public under the guidance of experienced naturopaths. This will prepare you to confidently start practising in the community. Please note that some coursework must be completed face to face to meet industry requirements.

Course duration: Full-time: 4 year Part-time: approximately 8 years

Degree structure details

Recommended Study Pattern

The course structure is based on a standard duration of three trimesters per year, each of 12-weeks duration and offering 8 subjects per year. A normal full-time load will see a student undertaking 80 credit points or 8 subjects per year for 4 years. A year consists of three trimesters. Part-time students may typically take 8 years to complete the 320 credit points.

Award Requirements

To graduate from this course a student will need to successfully complete 32 subjects, each with a value of 10 credit points for a course total of 320 credit points.
