This degree was previously known as Bachelor of Arts (Fine Art and Internet Communications).
This degree offers a choice of studying two single majors together and introduces students to the complementary fields of fine art and Digital and Social Media. The Fine Art major draws upon the diverse and complex traditions of Fine Art and calls for a high degree of self-discipline, a capacity for self-criticism and dedication to the demanding profession of being an artist. This degree aims to produce highly accomplished and knowledgeable graduates able to contribute to the artistic, aesthetic and social needs of contemporary society. The Digital and Social Media component provides you with an opportunity to learn in detail about the human dimensions of the internet: how people network, collaborate and share information through internet communications, media and design.

The way you present yourself to your audience affects the way they see you. If you are able to express your ideas confidently, you will be seen as a stronger leader, a proactive citizen, and a more valuable employee.In this subject you will be trained in effective, oral communication skills (in English), for public presentation in a variety of “real world” environments and online. This subject offers you an opportunity to build both theoretical and applied knowledge as you examine the management of communication in conflict and crisis situations as well as in everyday operational conduct. You can expect to explore and build on previous studies in communications. You are also encouraged to adopt a management perspective when working on assignments and practical activities. This subject introduces communications skills for managers.

This subject develops students&#39; understanding of cultural, academic and professional integrity in a business context. Students will reflect on their own cultural background, and consider how this impacts on communication with diverse cultures including Indigenous Peoples. By applying knowledge about global and Indigenous cultures, and ways of working that are respectful, students will develop capability to communicate responsibly and in ways that are aligned with varied audiences. Responsible business practices will be explored, with students examining Indigenous perspectives in global business and how these perspectives should inform business communication and decision making.
