- Synthesise evidence and articulate an identified research gap within healthcare and formulate a research question that addresses the problem.
- Evaluate and apply methodological options to form appropriate,coherent and rigorous research design.
- Appraise ethical, legal, cultural, and governance requirements to ensure an ethically robust research proposal.
- Articulate the importance of developing a robust research proprosal to guide safe and ethical research in the healthcare environment.

This subject develops advanced research capabilities required to design a rigorous and ethically sound research proposal in health care management. Building on prior study of research methods and literature review, students deepen their understanding of research design, methodological alignment, ethical and governance requirements, and the practical planning needed to conduct high‑quality research in complex health‑care environments. Across six modules, students progress from refining a researchable problem to constructing a comprehensive proposal that demonstrates methodological coherence, cultural and ethical integrity, feasibility, and scholarly rigour. The subject prepares students to undertake independent research projects and to critically contribute to evidence‑informed decision‑making in health‑care settings.
