In this subject you will undertake a series of interactive, application focused practical exercises that apply theory of biochemistry, physiology and human nutrition within a laboratory environment. This subject is delivered as an on-campus intensive program.

- Laboratory report (equivalent to 1500 words). Report based on data collected and analysed during the face-to-face intensive Hurdle requirement: students must attend the practical classes to be eligible for marks associated with this assessment. (30%)
- Laboratory Manual (2000 words) Hurdle requirement: students must attend the practical classes to be eligible for marks associated with this assessment. (50%)

This subject has a quota restriction. Enrolments are accepted until the quota of 35 students is reached. Priority is given to students intending to apply for postgraduate dietetics programs who have an appropriate WAM for such an application, and are close to completion of their degree.
Additional requirements
- Attendance requirements - Students will be required to spend 10 working days at the Bundoora campus at La Trobe University to complete an intensive block of practical laboratory classes. Students will also be responsible for purchasing a lab coat and safety glasses for practical class.
- Travel requirements - Students are responsible for costs associated with travel and accommodation while completing the intensive.
