The Bachelor of Arts (Japanese) equips you with the language skills and cultural awareness to succeed in contemporary Japanese society and culture. Bachelor of Arts (Japanese)

The Bachelor of Arts (Chinese) combines real-time interactive language learning and engaging digital tutorials with authentic resources to help you build your skills in listening, speaking, reading and writing Chinese. The Undergraduate Certificate in Geography is designed for people who are interested in pursuing a career in geography. This Undergraduate Certificate may enable entry (and credit for the four units completed) into the Geography major within the Bachelor of Arts program, among others offered via Curtin OUA.

The Bachelor of Arts (Korean Studies) prepares students for working and living in one of the world&#39;s most fascinating cultural and technological power houses, the Republic of Korea. Graduates who demonstrate strong linguistic and cultural competency in Korean Studies are highly sought after in a number of employment fields that require intercultural communication skills and a global world view.In this program you will explore your interest in Korean society and culture through a program which will equip you to succeed in Korea-related careers after graduation. You will also learn about the history, culture, politics and society of one of the most exciting and vibrant parts of the world and become part of the close-knit Korean Studies student community for the duration of your studies through additional extra-curricular and postgraduate study opportunities offered through the Korea Research Centre of Western Australia.You may also have opportunities to apply for work internships in Korea through our specially designed programs.No prior experience in studying a second language is required. Climate change and environmental stress more generally pose great challenges to humanity in every corner of the globe. Making human lives sustainable in such conditions involves meeting challenges which extend from securing essential food and energy supplies to developing viable settlements and social, cultural and economic institutions, as well as finding effective systems of local, national and international governance. The Geography Major explores the varied dimensions of social, economic and political change in an environmentally stressed world. It examines the threats and opportunities to developing and maintaining local communities within the context of regional, national and international processes.
Geography explores the relationships between people, places and environments. As our worlds have become increasingly interconnected, fast-paced and more complex due to technological and social change; symptoms of this speed and complexity include disconnectivity, restrictions on mobility and competition for resources. This makes Geography more relevant than ever.
You will learn how to integrate various perspectives in social research and natural science to identify practical solutions to issues surrounding: population growth; food security; migration; natural hazards; climate change; global cities; sustainable development; health and wellbeing; power and place; and, the emerging creative economies.

This subject is area-focused and interdisciplinary, designed to enhance Asia literacy by discovering Asia&#39;s diversity from historical developments to current global engagements. It covers traditional topics such as history and geography, as well as more contemporary issues facing Asia today, such as the issues of gender equality, environmental sustainability and globalisation. This subject employs a topical approach and provides an introduction to three of the largest Asian countries: China, India and Indonesia.﻿Please Note: If it’s your first time studying a Curtin University subject you’ll need to complete their compulsory ‘Academic Integrity Program’.
