Who we are
Since 1993, Open Universities Australia (OUA) have helped nearly half a million students achieve their educational and career goals.
At Open Universities Australia, we offer students a flexible way to access higher education and enhance professional development through distance education.
We help students transform their lives through education. Through OUA, you can study units and work towards qualifications online, all taught by leading universities around Australia, and if you wish, gain a degree from one of those providers.
OUA is open to anyone, anywhere. You can study toward the same qualification as an on-campus student.
Established in 1993 as Open Learning Australia, OUA has remained at the forefront of higher education throughout its history, identifying, developing and delivering new and innovative learning opportunities to students from all walks of life.

Open Universities Australia (OUA) presents its 2012 Leadership Series. The four-part online video series features Olympic gold medalist Lydia Lassila, acclaimed businesswoman Ita Buttrose, Geelong midfielder Jimmy Bartel and Westfield Matildas Sarah Walsh. Each speaker discusses the essential qualities of leaders, leaders they look up to as role models and in some cases, how they juggle online study in pursuit of leading positions off the field too. Ita Buttrose sums it all up when she says, "Learning and leadership are indispensible". As the leading provider of access to online tertiary education, OUA is committed to helping people find their own path to a leading career.
