About this subject
On successful completion of this subject, students will be able to:
- Critique the concepts, substance and structure of the Australian Curriculum in the context of current trends, debates and tensions in education.
- Apply the Australian Curriculum to develop and critique teaching plans in each teaching area.
- Develop and reflect on a personal professional learning plan.

In this subject, you will examine the Humanities and Social Sciences (HASS), Technologies, the Arts, Languages, and Health and Physical Education (PE) curricula. You will examine what and how children learn about HASS, Technology, the Arts, Languages, and Health and PE. You will study the concepts, substance and structure of the Australian Curriculum, and the debates and tensions that exist within learning areas. You will be introduced to the content and pedagogical approaches within the HASS, Technology, Arts, Languages, and Health and PE learning areas and explore teaching strategies and resources as you learn how to develop and evaluate teaching plans.
