About this subject
On successful completion of this subject, students will be able to:
- Apply the purposes and principles of assessment to teaching and learning.
- Evaluate assessment tools, methods, and research evidence to inform and enhance teaching practice.
- Analyse, interpret and share assessment data to improve student learning.
- Design assessment to support student learning.
- Critically analyse research and the use of data in education.

In this subject, you will learn how to critically evaluate educational research, integrate assessment and achievement data into your teaching practice, and evaluate the impact of your teaching on student learning. You will consider the purposes and principles of assessment as you critique assessment methods and tools used in schooling. You will develop the skills and knowledge needed to gather, analyse, interpret and report student achievement data.

If you study the prerequisite subject(s) in the study period immediately prior to studying this subject, your result for the prerequisite subject(s) will not be finalised prior to the close of enrolment.
