About this subject
On completion of this course students should be able to achieve the following learning outcomes:
1. Design an appropriate research aim, question(s) and objectives and/or hypotheses
2. Construct appropriate methodologies to investigate the research aim and objectives
3. Critique literature using appropriate quality assessment tools
4. Critically appraise the ethical implications of conducting research in varied health and/or cultural settings

- Project-based proposal development including literature review

- Data collection and data analysis

This course is the first part of the master’s Research Project and will explore the theory and practice of qualitative and quantitative research processes, to provide students with the essential knowledge integral to undertaking research projects. Through workshops and supervision, the student will develop a detailed project-based proposal which will include a literature review, aim and objectives and or hypotheses, detailed methodology, data collection and data analysis, research ethics, timeline, and budget.
