Italian Language 2A
About this subject
Upon completion of this subject, students will be able to:
- utilise intermediate structures and functions of the Italian language;
- demonstrate understanding of modern Italian language and the use of forms and expressions in colloquial interaction at an intermediate level; and
- demonstrate knowledge of Italian culture through the use of intermediate texts for language practice dealing with various aspects of Italian history, arts and lifestyle.
- Topics will be available to enrolled students in the subjects Learning Management System site approximately one week prior to the commencement of the teaching period.
This subject is the sequel to the two introductory subjects UNE-ITAL101 and UNE-ITAL102. It aims to bring students to a point where they can more competently read and understand and more accurately write and speak in Italian. It involves a partial revision and practice of basic grammatical points introduced in first-year Italian and the reading and appreciation of appropriate texts.

Additional requirements
- Attendance requirements - There is a non-mandatory 2 day intensive school for this subject which students may choose to attend. The Intensive School will be held at the UNE Sydney campus in Parramatta, NSW if sufficient students commit by the date specified by the unit coordinator. Students are strongly encouraged to attend, as the Intensive School will offer activities that boost pronunciation and oral skills development. Dates for this intensive school to be advised.
- Equipment requirements - Headphones or speakers (required to listen to lectures and other media) Headset, including microphone (highly recommended) Webcam (may be required for participation in virtual classrooms and/or media presentations).
- Software requirements - It is essential for students to have reliable internet access in order to participate in and complete your units, regardless of whether they contain an on campus attendance or intensive school component.
