About this subject
By the end of this 12-week subject, you'll be able to:
- Demonstrate elicitation and collaboration using business analysis techniques.
- Perform requirements analysis and design in an organisational context.
- Diagnose problems and appraise solutions through requirements lifecycle management.
- Design business analysis strategy, planning and perspectives that influence personal, organisational and societal outcomes.
- A guide to the topics you will explore in this subject will be provided in your study materials.
Business Analysis is the professional craft of creating clarity and driving meaningful change. In this subject, you will learn to see the world as it is, imagine how it could be better, and apply structured analysis to bridge that gap. Aligned to the International Institute of Business Analysis™ (IIBA®) Body of Knowledge (BABOK®), the curriculum builds the competencies required for Entry Certificate in Business Analysis™ (ECBA™) certification and introduces emerging practice with Artificial Intelligence technologies. You will work with large-language models to elicit, refine, and manage requirements, thereby gaining hands-on fluency in using generative AI as a collaboration partner. Through peer workshops and case studies that span corporate, government, and not-for-profit contexts, you will practice the full business analysis lifecycle: identifying needs, analysing and designing solutions, assessing value, and engaging diverse stakeholders. By the end of the subject, you will be able to harness both human insight and AI-augmented techniques to ask sharper questions, surface hidden truths, and influence positive change locally and globally.
