About this subject
By the end of this 12-week subject, you'll be able to:
- Identify historic and contemporary architecture, and interior design and decoration styles.
- Investigate architectural styles according to the requirements of a brief following academic processes.
- Analyse the effects of historic architecture, and interior design and decoration practices on contemporary design and decoration.
- Produce a variety of written and visual presentation types that meets the objectives of a given brief.
- A guide to the topics you will explore in this subject will be provided in your study materials.
In this subject, students will explore historical styles and eras of architecture, interior design and decoration with an Australian focus. Students will report on historical built styles and create a variety of analog and digital visualisations, including 360-degree images. This increased awareness of history better positions students to contribute to contemporary built design practice.
