About this subject

  • By the end of this 12-week subject, you'll be able to:

    1. Analyse and apply key determinants of health to priority population groups, including (but not limited to) rural and remote communities, First Nations peoples, culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD) communities, LGBTIQA+ populations, and individuals in workplace, healthcare, and school settings.
    2. Apply the Ottawa Charter for Health Promotion and relevant behavioural theories to the design, implementation, and critique of health promotion programs.
    3. Create evidence-informed health promotion plans that draw on multiple theoretical frameworks and address a range of social, environmental, and behavioural determinants of health.
    4. Apply health promotion frameworks and theories to design context-appropriate strategies that address identified determinants of health.
    5. Develop health promotion plans that embed sustainability principles and outline strategies to ensure the program’s long-term continuity and impact.
