  By the end of this 12-week subject, you'll be able to:

  1. Appraise the functions of a financial manager in contemporary businesses and within the current regulatory and legal context.
  2. Critically evaluate the role and content of each of the four principal financial statements to inform decision making in contemporary business environments.
  3. Investigate and evaluate different types of funding to aid decision making.
  4. Evaluate cost structures and budgets and their impacts on short-and long-term business decisions. 
  5. Justify investment decisions using sound capital budgeting techniques. 
  6. Evaluate how decisions related to capital structure and payout policy affirm firm value.
