By the end of this 12-week subject, you'll be able to:
- Demonstrate and apply foundational fashion design studio skills and knowledge.
- Explore form and shape in studio practice including concepts of dimensional stability and drape.
- Demonstrate the ability to manage time and prioritise workload to meet deadlines.
- Design a garment in response to a given brief.
- Present garment construction methods, terminology and processes in a professional context.

In Introduction to Shape and Form, students develop foundational design studio practice skills and knowledge. Through idea generation, fabric manipulation and draping, student’s progress their ideas and translate these into a commercial garment design. Students gain a deeper understanding of design elements and principles as key design concepts by conceptualising and producing 2D and 3D design outcomes. These design outcomes inform the student’s final garment prod
