2D Asset Creation introduces students to the principles and practices of creating 2D digital assets for games and digital media. The subject explores historical and contemporary approaches to asset creation, providing a foundation in both technical processes and creative theory. The subject provides a foundational understanding of how images are constructed, manipulated, and deployed across diverse platforms, bridging traditional art theory with contemporary digital workflows. Through practical exercises, students will apply industry-standard tools to produce functional 2D assets such as textures, sprites, and UI elements, preparing them for integration into game engines and animation workflows.
