About this subject
At the completion of this subject students will be able to:
- Demonstrate an understanding of the foundation principles and uniqueness of services and how these elements present challenges to both service organisations and consumers of services.
- Evaluate issues associated to the design, maintenance and sustainability of service products in relation to the extended marketing mix.
- Evaluate the complex nature of service encounters from customer, relational and managerial perspectives.
- Develop marketing strategy through the design of marketing mix elements that accommodate specific service issues/settings/industries.
- Develop strategic directives that promote equity, CSR, quality assurance, customer satisfaction and relationship management for organisations operating within the service sector.

This course examines critical issues in services and relationship marketing. Key aspects of marketing in service organisations are addressed including the management of customer-contact employees. The nature and scope of marketing relationships between firms and with customers is also explored.
