About this subject
At the completion of this subject students will be able to:
- Using analysis of data from a full range of sources such as family, allied professionals, class, school and system apply an understanding of the diverse needs of learners (abilities, linguistic, cultural, religious and socioeconomic backgrounds) to plan differentiated learning design in the secondary education context
- Plan differentiated assessment from a strength based perspective to accommodate diverse student abilities and meet the needs of a range of learners
- Using contemporary research, synthesise professional practices, knowledge, and skills for effective learning and teaching through the maintenance of positive learning environments designed to support the needs of diverse students
- Justify a range of teaching strategies for using ICT to expand curriculum learning opportunities for diverse student abilities and backgrounds.

- Module 3: Professional conduct & communication
This subject is the third in a sequence of four professional teaching practice focused subjects. The subject will support your understanding and application of key education theories, concepts, and skills to develop your professional teaching practice. The first module will introduce evidence based learning design for secondary teachers to differentiate their instruction to meet the needs of diverse learners. The second module will continue to develop the theory and application of positive classroom management including positive learning environments and teacher-student conflict resolution. The third module will address communication with other teaching professionals, assessment differentiation, and rubric development. This subject is designed to provide a theoretical and practical foundation of essential skills you will need to demonstrate on the third school-based professional experience placement.
