Methods and Proposal in Design and the Built Environment
About this subject
At the completion of this subject students will be able to:
- contextualise and conceptualise a research topic related to your discipline
- review, critique, synthesise and evaluate relevant literature and precedent studies to establish a theoretical and/or practice-based foundation for the project
- design and justify appropriate research methods, tools and techniques aligned with the project aims and discipline knowledge
- develop and reflect on positionality, ethical considerations, methodological choices and anticipated impact(s) within your discipline.
- This is a research project and therefore topics will vary within and between semesters.
This subject consolidates research preparation across traditional, creative practice, and professional practice streams in the built environment and creative disciplines. Through completing the subject, students will be equipped with advanced skills in research design, critical analysis and methodological approach contextualised within their chosen discipline and stream.
