Entry requirements
Higher education
Torrens University Australia offers flexible entry options and study pathways, whether you’re finishing school, pursuing career progression or looking for a change. Entry requirements for this course includes:
- AQF Level 7 (Bachelor degree) or above from an Australian University in a relevant field of study OR
- Successful completion of a Higher Education qualification OR
VET studies
- Successful completion of a Vocational qualification (AQF Level 4), or above.
Work and Life
- Work life experience demonstrating the ability to undertake study at the required level.
English Proficiency Requirements
Students who do not meet the above criteria are required to Undertake Language, Literacy and Numeracy (LLN) testing from an Australian Government approved provider and demonstrate competency at exit level three (3) in the Australian Core Skills Framework (ACSF) in both reading and numeracy.

This course provides the foundation for all postgraduate Software Engineering specialisations. You’ll focus on the knowledge required to design and implement advanced software engineering techniques and analyses designing, developing and using systems while employing well-informed software engineering methodologies. You’ll explore models and architectural techniques to develop secure software engineered solutions and learn about platform constraints, version control and issue tracking. Project management and monitoring tools will enable real-time progress and issue tracking leading to efficient software development.
