What does a dental practitioner do?
Duties and tasks
Collaborate with other dental personnel for assistance and to refer patients for supplemental dental services.
Examine patients experiencing oral pain or discomfort to help keep optimal health for patients teeth, gums and mouth.
Identify causes of oral problems, including cavities and other dental diseases.
Perform routine dental cleaning and check-ups for patients, including preventative procedures.
Provide oral surgery when needed for prevention or restoration.
Repair damaged or decayed gums and teeth using a variety of procedures including fillings and crowns and assist in correcting improper bites from disproportionate jaw or tooth irregularities.
Research updates and new equipment and procedures in overall dental and oral health field.
