Tourism and Travel Adviser

Tourism and Travel Advisers assist travelers by selling transportation, lodging and entertainment activities to individuals or groups planning trips or events. These advisers offer advice on different destinations and aid in the planning destinations and itinerary during the travel event.

Duties and tasks

  • Advise concerning arrangements and itinerary
  • Arrange travel and lodging
  • Assist individual or group with destination plans
  • Assist with passport and visa information as needed
  • Provide information regarding destination and lodging to customers

Working conditions

Tourism and Travel Advisers generally work in offices where much of their time is spent on the phone and on the computer. Many tourism and travel advisers are self-employed and as technology increases, this trade will become more efficient.
