Store Detective

Store Detectives, also referred to as Security Officers or Security Guards, guard, monitor or patrol buildings, stores or other such premises. Store Detectives are to provide security by preventing violence, theft, or violation of rules.

Duties and tasks

  • Contacts the police or fire department in cases of emergency
  • Inspects security systems for proper functioning
  • Monitors cameras to observe activity on premises
  • Patrols premises to ensure security
  • Utilise's an authorised vehicle to transport individuals for security purposes

  • Utilises logic and reasoning skills

Working conditions

Store Detectives spend a good portion of their time patrolling the premises, both inside and outside of the building. Store Detectives follow a set routine to ensure safety, but must always be on alert for suspicious activity. Depending on the location of the store, being a Store Detective can potentially be dangerous.
