Protective Security relates to security governance (including supporting a positive security culture), information security (including cyber security), personnel security (including employees and contractors) and physical security (providing a safe and secure physical environment for an organisation’s people, information and assets). This fully online subject provides you with a thorough understanding of the concepts and practical applications of Protective Security. You will gain an appreciation of the issues and elements that underlie the practice of Protective Security and draw upon theoretical concepts, real life case studies and relevant standards.
This subject will provide you with the knowledge and skills to translate and communicate theoretical concepts in Protective Security into tangible outputs for industry. This subject, together with crisis management, business continuity management, and the ability to lead resilient organisations, are collectively the underpinning foundation for enhancing organisational resilience. The subject provides you with an understanding and the requisite skills that will be interrelated with these subjects should you proceed further with your postgraduate studies in organisational resilience.
