About this subject

  • Upon completion of this subject, the student should be able to:

    1. Analyse the roles and responsibilities of financial institutions in developing strategic responses to innovation and disruption
    2. Evaluate how FinTech tools and techniques communicate financial ideas and solutions for financial analysts
    3. Solve finance and technological problems in banking and financial institutions with sustainability focus
    4. Prepare advice on regulating financial technologies

Please note that your enrolment in this subject is conditional on successful completion of these prerequisite subject(s). If you study the prerequisite subject(s) in the study period immediately prior to studying this subject, your result for the prerequisite subject(s) will not be finalised prior to the close of enrolment. In this situation, should you not complete your prerequisite subject(s) successfully you should not continue with your enrolment in this subject. If you are currently enrolled in the prerequisite subject(s) and believe you may not complete these all successfully, it is your responsibility to reschedule your study of this subject to give you time to re-attempt the prerequisite subject(s).

Additional requirements

  • Other requirements - Teaching Arrangement: Pre-recorded lectures provided online, every week (13 weeks), up to 1.5 hours per lecture (3-5 short lectures of maximum 20 minutes each). Workshop (online students will join on-campus students via Zoom), 4 blocks of 3 hour workshops, 180 minutes per workshop.
