About this subject

  • On successful completion of this subject, students will be able to:

    1. Create PICO frameworks to structure pharmacotherapeutic questions.
    2. Develop search strategies using MeSH and other search terms to collate relevant evidence-based research.
    3. Critically appraise scientific literature using knowledge of the hierarchy of evidence, sources of bias, and research methodology.
    4. Evaluate research to provide a response to a clinical query.

  • TAS-AMS-GDI-2027 - Graduate Diploma of Advanced Practice (Medication Safety)
  • TAS-CPH-GDI-2027 - Graduate Diploma of Clinical Pharmacy
  • TAS-CPH-GCE-2027 - Graduate Certificate in Clinical Pharmacy

Others

We assume that Pharmacists undertaking this subject will have a general knowledge of most of the therapeutic areas covered, as well as have the necessary skills to interpret laboratory and patient data. Some students may need to refresh and revise this knowledge, due to the many different backgrounds and training that our students have.

  • Other requirements - Teaching Arrangement: 10 hrs weekly self directed learning including online tutorials (live and recorded).

Study load
