About this subject

  • On completion of this course students should be able to achieve the following learning outcomes:

    1. Understand the policy framework relevant to research student supervision at a national and institutional level
    2. Critically analyse and evaluate the literature and current trends in successful research supervision
    3. Employ critical reflection and evaluation of supervisory practices 
    4. Identify strategies to support research students to enable the timely completion of their course requirements 
    5. Create strategies and resources to enhance the capacity to undertake effective and successful research supervision 
    6. Engage with and actively contribute to research student supervision communities of practice
