About this subject

  • On completion of this subject students should be able to achieve the following learning outcomes:

    1. Analyse different leadership styles and strategies and their application and relevance to the health care setting
    2. Analyse the key leadership strategies and determine how these contribute to building team effectiveness in the practice setting
    3. Evaluate different communication styles/skills and how these can enhance and facilitate the processes of coaching, mentoring and negotiation
    4. Synthesise structures and processes that enable leaders through effective communication to involve the team in decision-making
    5. Analyse availability and access to resources which would support learning and training relevant to performance development of self and others.
