Ideas of Theatre I

About this subject

  • Upon completion of this subject, students will be able to:

    1. analyse and apply an understanding of the basic elements of theatre in historical contexts;
    2. demonstrate an understanding of the contribution of the actor to the theatre event;
    3. show fundamental performance and presentation skills; and
    4. communicate fundamental ideas effectively in written, oral and performance forms.

  • Attendance requirements - There is a mandatory 4 day intensive school for this subject. Starts 10am on the first day. Finishes at 4pm on the final day. The full timetable for the school will be distributed at the first session. Dates for this intensive school to be advised.
  • Equipment requirements - Headphones or speakers (required to listen to lectures and other media) Headset, including microphone (highly recommended) Webcam (may be required for participation in virtual classrooms and/or media presentations).
  • Software requirements - It is essential for students to have reliable internet access in order to participate in and complete your units, regardless of whether they contain an on campus attendance or intensive school component.
