Upon completion of this subject, students will be able to:
- demonstrate increased accuracy in listening, speaking, reading and writing skills in German language at a lower-medium level;
- communicate with increasing autonomy in German at a lower-medium level with some depth and critical insight on everyday life and aspects of German society and culture, such as housing and money matters, media and technologies, the environment, and global challenges;
- apply extended knowledge of German cultural and social norms and German society; and
- use more developed cognitive skills to analyse and synthesise information when communicating at a lower-medium level.

German, spoken by over 130 million people worldwide, is one of the widely recognised and commonly used languages in Europe and across the globe. This subject is designed for students who have passed the first trimester subject in intermediate German. It is also appropriate for you if you have equivalent competence and wish to continue your language studies. Lectures and tutorials are devoted to language extension and consolidation in all four skill areas (reading, listening, speaking and writing). In addition, you will learn about German society and culture in your reading. Enhance your ability to communicate in German, whether for business or personal relationships.
