About this subject
By the end of this 12-week subject, you'll be able to:
- Interpret the importance of performing needs analysis in public health program development.
- Apply different methodologies of needs assessment to establish and prioritise community needs.
- Develop a Program Logic Model and critically analyse the link between the components of Program Logic Model and Program Theory in Public Health Program design.
- Develop an evidence-based Program and Evaluation Plan for the implementation and evaluation of a Public Health Program.
- Critically examine and apply the principles and strategies of community and stakeholder engagement.
- Critically examine and apply the principles of evaluation, comparing the types and stages of evaluation utilised in Public Health Program development.
- Critically reflect on the collaborative process of Public Health Program design, implementation and evaluation.
- A guide to the topics you will explore in this subject will be provided in your study materials.
Complement the industry-relevant skills and knowledge you have gained so far by advancing your capabilities in the design, implementation and evaluation of community health promotion and disease prevention programs. Learn about the theory and practice of needs assessment in a community, and how to develop a program model informed by the need assessment. The principles and resources required to successfully design public health programs, and the importance of public health program implementation and evaluation will also be examined. Lastly, to further enhance your expertise in the public health industry, you will learn key skills and techniques to effectively interpret, report and disseminate evaluation findings.
