By the end of this 12-week subject, you'll be able to:
- Critically reflect on and apply a range of contemporary educational theories and principles of learning and teaching relevant to your own practice.
- Critically reflect on the changing roles and influences within a diverse learning community.
- Analyse how your emerging professional identity aligns with your skills, knowledge, dispositions, and best educational practices within your professional context.
- Identify challenges and opportunities of personal and professional relevance within an educational context, and frame these within broader theory and practice.
- A guide to the topics you will explore in this subject will be provided in your study materials.
In this subject, you will explore, analyse and interpret key learning theories relevant in education, and participate actively in a range of contemporary teaching approaches as part of a community of practice. You will have the opportunity to apply these theories to your own practice as educators and your professional identity and aspirations. You will begin to consider issues, challenges and opportunities within your professional contexts, and plan for your ongoing development. Additionally, you will focus on understanding and addressing the needs of diverse learners, implementing diverse teaching strategies, keeping inclusion and social justice at the forefront, and impacting change within educational settings.
