About this subject
At the completion of this subject students will be able to:
- Gather, analyse and evaluate health and science information, issues and contexts in a systematic, creative and insightful way.
- Use professional knowledge and skills ethically and responsibly.
- Formulate and implement communication solutions to complex health and science problems.
- Present knowledge, ideas and opinions effectively in relation to health and science communication issues.

This subject explores professional communication as applied to a range of societal and practical contexts including health and science. Students will interrogate the critical issues associated with the complexities of communicating in these industries from a local, national and global point of view.Including the role of communication in indigenous issues in Australia. Students will develop research and practical skills by working on real-life projects from within and outside of the University and with industry and research experts.
Learning activities in this subject are delivered over 8 sessions/weeks and completed by students in myMurdoch Learning (LMS).

Assessment in this subject includes an exam. Majority of OUA students will be required to complete their final exam remotely online (Remote eExam) via myMurdoch Learning (LMS), using Respondus LockDown Browser and Monitor. You will require a device meeting the minimum standards with a webcam, microphone, and stable internet connection and perform a one-time installation of ‘Respondus LockDown Browser’ using the unique Murdoch link. You are required to complete the mandatory practice quiz before the start of the exam period to ensure a smooth experience on the day.
