This subject develops advanced capabilities in leading digital health transformation within the Australian healthcare system. Students critically evaluate emerging digital health technologies, exploring their implications for healthcare delivery, governance, organisational performance, and workforce capability. Emphasis is placed on understanding and applying Australian legislation, standards, and ethical principles, alongside data governance, privacy, and security requirements, to ensure responsible and sustainable digital health decision‑making.
Learners integrate contemporary research, innovation, and evidence‑based frameworks to design and optimise strategies for safe, equitable, and patient‑centred implementation of digital health solutions. Students will assess organisational and workforce impacts and strengthen their leadership capacity to drive digital innovation. The subject prepares graduates to navigate complex digital ecosystems and contribute to sustainable, high‑performing healthcare environments.

Assessment in this subject includes an exam. Majority of OUA students will be required to complete their final exam remotely online (Remote eExam) via myMurdoch Learning (LMS), using Respondus LockDown Browser and Monitor. You will require a device meeting the minimum standards with a webcam, microphone, and stable internet connection and perform a one-time installation of ‘Respondus LockDown Browser’ using the unique Murdoch link. You are required to complete the mandatory practice quiz before the start of the exam period to ensure a smooth experience on the day.
