This subject equips students with a solid understanding of military operations and defence analysis. The unit examines key questions related to the use of force, detailing the distinct logic of the five domains of warfare, and helps students grapple with key contemporary challenges such as the impact of emerging technologies on defence, strategy and the conduct of warfare. The second part of the unit introduces students to a range of analytical techniques (e.g. net assessment, scenarios and wargames) to examine and assess the application of military force, providing students with the knowledge and skills to critically evaluate defence capabilities, doctrine and challenges.
