On successful completion you will be able to:

- Assess new health information system or service implementations and identify opportunities for improvement and change.
- Demonstrate skills in the development of specifications and requirements for health technology and service-related contracts, tendering and procuring practices and health service agreements.
- Working in teams, examine and develop innovative, adaptive Project Management practices to achieve complex problem solving and to successfully adapt to change managements.

In this subject, you will develop an understanding of project management frameworks and associated project management skills in health information systems and services. You will develop a health information-related project concept and learn how to plan for implementation and evaluation, using project management knowledge and simple tools such as a Gantt Chart template available in Microsoft Excel. You will also learn about the importance of stakeholder engagement, project probity, the role of procurement (purchasing), the tender process and contracts in public health. This subject also contextualises project management practice in a health environment where emerging technologies, changeable work conditions and business operations are influenced by political, socioeconomic and clinical forces.
Recommended for students who have completed all first and second-year subjects in the Bachelor of Health Information Management.
