About this subject

  • At the completion of this subject students will be able to:

    1. Identify types of data and appropriate methods of collecting data and apply visualization techniques and calculate numerical descriptive measures to analyse the data. 
    2. Describe the concept of probability associated with uncertainty in statistical decision making and probability distributions.
    3. Formulate and estimate regression models, interpret results, understand statistical properties of estimators, and conduct hypothesis tests on model parameters and on the assumptions made on the stochastic disturbance term.
    4. Perform econometric modelling of economic and financial time series and understand related concepts related to non-stationary variables.
