About this subject
At the completion of this subject students will be able to:
- Identify types of data and appropriate methods of collecting data and apply visualization techniques and calculate numerical descriptive measures to analyse the data.
- Describe the concept of probability associated with uncertainty in statistical decision making and probability distributions.
- Formulate and estimate regression models, interpret results, understand statistical properties of estimators, and conduct hypothesis tests on model parameters and on the assumptions made on the stochastic disturbance term.
- Perform econometric modelling of economic and financial time series and understand related concepts related to non-stationary variables.
- Data Collection and Survey Design
- Basic Descriptive Statistics and Probability Distributions
- Sampling Distributions, Confidence Intervals, and Hypothesis Testing
