At the completion of this subject students will be able to:
- describe strategies that work within school and/or system, curriculum and legislative requirements to support students’ well-being and safety
- design a personal learning management plan that comprises and synthesises philosophy, theory and practical strategies
- examine the interconnected relationships and roles of teachers, students, parent/carer(s), schools, communities and professional networks in education and communicate effectively with these stakeholders
- compare and contrast a range of classroom management theories that are designed to engage all students in learning inclusive of those with diverse needs.

This subject focuses on creating and maintaining a positive learning framework, developing safe, supportive and accountable learning environments. Emphasis will be placed on proactive teacher behaviour in meeting individual student needs, motivating and engaging all learners.
