About this subject
At the completion of this subject students will be able to:
- deconstruct and evaluate theoretical positions (including indigenous) that underpin design work,
- evaluate and synthesise information local, international and Indigenous, relevant to a complex project,
- incorporate theoretical knowledge within an approved self-nominated project,
- communicate a complex design hypothesis visually and in writing.

This subject was previously known as BIA420 Interior Architecture Advanced Theory and Research.
This subject explores techniques, methods and methodologies relevant to design research and practice, extending an understanding of ways in which the interior can be experienced. Students learn how to integrate traditional methodologies and creative practice. They will incorporate theory, practice and research that informs design. International, local and Indigenous perspectives are considered.
