At the end of the program, students of the Graduate Certificate of Project Management can:
- apply independent judgement when analysing and evaluating complex problems to generate creative solutions in Project Management
- communicate specialised knowledge, concepts and skills to a variety of audiences in the field of project management
- demonstrate management skills by initiating, planning, implementing and evaluating tasks in the field of project management.
Opportunities exist in project management in a number of sectors including mining, oil and gas, health, property development, IT, banking, finance, engineering, not-for-profit organisations and local, state and federal government.
Possible future job titles: Project Manager, Project Coordinator, Product and Development Manager, Project Officer, Policy Officer
A student who has completed this course is eligible to apply for certification as a Certified Practicing Project Practitioner (CPPP) under AIPMs RegPM program. To qualify for CPPP the student must apply for Associate Membership with a copy of their qualification and the course must be listed on our website at the time of application.
The following course-specific admission requirements are mandatory and must be satisfied by all applicants. These requirements are in addition to or supersede the minimum requirements outlined within the Academic admission requirements band section below.
All applicants are required to have a Bachelor's degree in a discipline other than Project Management when using prior qualifications as a basis for application, with equivalents considered.
Academic admission requirements (Band 6) may be satisfied through completion of one of the following:
- Bachelor degree; or.
Work and Life
Alternatively applicants can apply with at least five years appropriate professional experience.
English Proficiency Requirements
English competency requirements may be satisfied through completion of one of the following:
- IELTS Academic Overall band minimum score of 6.5 (no individual band less than 6.0);
- Bachelor degree from a country specified on the English Proficiency Bands page;
- Successfully completed 0.375 EFTSL of study at postgraduate level or higher at an Australian higher education provider (or equivalent);
- Where accepted, equivalent prior learning, including at least five years relevant professional experience; or
- Other tests, courses or programs defined on the English Proficiency Bands page.
If you're applying for a course and have previous study or professional experience, you may be eligible for what we call 'advanced standing'.
