Students who complete the Graduate Certificate in Applied Behaviour Analysis will typically apply their knowledge and skills in one of three ways:

  1. Students may use their training to enhance their existing professional capacity as teachers and allied health clinicians.
  2. Students may apply their training to everyday life such as parents and caregivers raising children with developmental disabilities.
  3. Successful completion of the Graduate Certificate in Applied Behaviour Analysis would fulfil part of the requirements for sitting the external exam to become a Board Certified Behaviour Analysists (BCBA) or Board Certified Assistant Behaviour Analyst (BCaBA).

Professional recognition

This Graduate Certificate is approved by the Association for Behaviour Analysis International (ABAI) to form part of a Verified Course Sequence.

Verified Course Sequence: The Association for Behaviour Analysis International (ABAI) has verified the following courses toward the coursework requirements for eligibility to take the Board Certified Behaviour Analyst® or Board Certified Assistant Behaviour Analyst® examination: 7801AHS, 7802AHS, 7803AHS,7804AHS. Applicants will need to meet additional eligibility requirements and demonstrate they reside in an authorized country before they can be deemed eligible to take the examination. Students should refer to the Behaviour Analyst Certification Board (BACB) for full requirements.

Professional Certification: Currently, certification for behaviour analysis practitioners (e.g. Board Certified Behaviour Analyst) is administered internationally, by the Behaviour Analyst Certification Board (BACB, based in the USA). Students should refer to BACB website for a full explanation and speak with program staff if you have any questions regarding credentialing and career pathways.
