What is it like to be an RMIT Online student?

When you study online with RMIT, you earn the same qualification as an on-campus student. But you don’t have to commute to campus or attend in-person lectures. You have the freedom to complete your coursework on your own schedule, which can make it easier to work full or part-time.

Online students access all course content, lectures, assessments, grades and feedback through a learning management system called Canvas. The trickiest thing about online study can be finding motivation and managing your time. But you will find the work for your whole semester visible in Canvas at once, so you can organise your weeks accordingly.

You also have access to other students, teaching staff, and an IT help desk whenever you need extra support.

How do I start an RMIT course application?

You can enrol in single RMIT subjects and short courses directly through Open Universities Australia. We’ll handle all the administration for you, but you will study directly with RMIT University.

RMIT manages enquiries and applications related to its degrees.

If you find an RMIT degree you’re interested in, select ‘Enquire now’ on the course page and fill out the form. A representative from RMIT University will then get in touch with you. They will be able to guide you on the application process, and answer your questions around entry requirements, your eligibility for course credit, and HELP loans.
