Strategic Information Management in Healthcare
About this subject
Upon completion of this subject, the student should be able to:
- Describe the purpose, goals and requirements for enhanced strategic information management.
- Effectively communicate and lead technology-enabled initiatives for enhanced strategic management.
- Discuss and justify the multi-stakeholder’s role in designing digital health solutions.
- Identify and critically evaluate benefits and challenges of digital innovation strategies.
- Appraise digital innovations for improving service efficacy, interprofessional teamwork and patient safety.

The theory, processes and activities to identify, monitor and improve strategic information management systems will be investigated. The challenges associated with the implementation and ongoing management of eHealth, effective information management, digital innovation strategies and stakeholder engagement to co-design digital health solutions will be explored. Requirements for organisational, service and team information management performance metrics, incorporating administrative and clinical outcomes and reporting arrangements, will be debated. Students will have opportunities to hear from experts across Australia and participate in industry case studies and analysis.
