About this subject

  • Upon completion of this subject , the student should be able to:

    1. Appraise the evidence for potentially modifiable risk factors for dementia and the best-supported preventative measures and public health strategies.
    2. Investigate the determinants of health which impact on dementia incidence, diagnosis, prognosis, and resources across the world and potential public health solutions.
    3. Investigate the societal, health system and economic impacts posed by dementia in a range of global contexts and the implications for public health policy and practice.
    4. Critically analyse public health and social support provisions of relevance to people living with dementia and those who care for them.
