About this subject
Upon completion of this subject, students should be able to:
- Apply information security and risk standards and IT security baselines to a given context
- Analyse and report on information technology security management issues and emergent trends
- Demonstrate an understanding of the current legal and ethical positions that relate to information technology security management issues
- Identify, evaluate and use relevant discipline tools and techniques
- Identify and evaluate relevant behaviours, principles and perspectives in the workplace
- Use reflective and deliberative thinking to generate plans for self-development
- Apply practice and discipline-based skills and knowledge to communicate solutions to real world problems

IT Security Management provides students with the foundations required to learn about cyberspace safety and security, and security management at the corporate level. This subject deals with management issues encountered as a result of deploying security countermeasures, policy and initiatives in organisational settings. Current and future issues relating to information technology security management will be explored in the subject. The key focus of this subject is on introducing students to IT security policy development and human security management.
