About this subject
Upon completion of this unit, students will be able to:
- identify and synthesise knowledge of the structure and function of the human body to an introductory depth and breadth of detail as appropriate for a beginning professional in health and community services;
- apply knowledge of the structure and function of the human body to evaluate and report on the health status of clients at an introductory level as required for a beginner in the health and social care sectors;
- analyse client health status in relation to the availability of specific health and social services;
- plan, design, evaluate and communicate client health plans aligning client needs; and
- identify, analyse, act on and communicate on work health and safety processes relevant to client's health status by individuals and by supervisors.
- Topics will be available to enrolled students in the subjects Learning Management System site approximately one week prior to the commencement of the teaching period.
This unit introduces students to the structure of the human body, the interrelated functioning of body systems, and the relationship between structure, function and health in order to inform a basic assessment of client health.
