Students will focus on developing their knowledge, skills and practice in urban design and urban planning through a studio and design project. Using a series of practical case studies, urban strategic planning and design exercises and working in groups and individual modules, students take a leading role in developing plans and designs for urban settlements. Attention in the subject is given to establishing projects that deliver net community benefit.
This is a level 2 subject. Please consider the subject pre-requisites before enrolling. This subject includes live sessions with the expectation of student attendance and participation.
- Individual site based design project (2250 words). (50%)
- Case study of an award-winning project (900 words). (Excluding the graphic content - photos, maps, images). (20%)
- Individual portfolio (1350 words). (30%)

- LAT-URE-ADG-2025 - Associate Degree in Urban and Regional Environments

Prerequisites: Students must be admitted in the following course: AH003O and have completed 15 credit points of first year Planning or Social Sciences subjects.
