About this subject
On successful completion you will be able to:
- Apply discipline knowledge and skills from a Business, Law or Humanities discipline to a relevant industry-based project.
- Evaluate transferable employability skills, knowledge and personal attributes and formulate a learning development plan.
- Work effectively in a team to creatively and collaboratively solve real world problems.
- Apply project management skills to achieve project milestones and outcomes.
- Reflect on the industry experience, your skill development and strengths as member of a professional team and develop strategies for achieving career goals.

- General understanding of employability skills and setting SMART goals.
- Development of reflective writing skills.
- Overview of projects and project management.
- Understanding of project management processes (project initiating, planning, controlling, executing and closing).
- How to conduct a feasibility study or build a business case for a project.
- Functional areas of project management.
- The role of a project manager.
This subject provides you with an opportunity to develop a real-world solution to a real-world project devised and developed in consultation with industry partners. You will work in a multidisciplinary team to critically engage with an industry project and develop, design and test a creative solution. By participating in the industry project, you will have the chance to collaborate with students from diverse educational and professional backgrounds, while also establishing connections with industry experts.
- Individual skills assessment and project development plan (750 words equivalent) (15%)
- Goal setting and mid project reflection (1500 words equivalent) (35%)
- Project report (1500 words equivalent per individual) (50%)

Prerequisites: Students must have completed 90 credit points and must be admitted in the following course: LBBO
Past La Trobe University students who have previously completed LTU2004 (Industry Project A) or LTU2005 (Industry Project B) are ineligible to enrol in this subject.
